Welcome to a new edition of Friday Five – a collection of my favorite experiences and insights from the past week that have added substance, impact and fun to my life. Here we go!
Favorite Food: Edson Farms‘ Salmon Eggs
If you’re a deviled egg lover but haven’t had one since Easter, try one of my favorite go-to lunch options. A simple combination of free-range deviled eggs with chunks of Omega-3 rich salmon. They’re not only super-nutritious, they’re delicious!
Favorite Podcast Episode: “Moments that Change Lives” with Dan Heath (Ep 25) – EntreLeadership Podcast
Dan Heath is a New York Times best-selling author and Stanford University professor who, together with his twin brother Chip Heath, recently published his fourth book and, so far, my favorite read of the year: The Power of Moments. Like the book, this podcast episode contains powerful stories and practical strategies to construct moments in the lives of your customers, employees, friends, and loved ones that inspire elevation, pride, insight, and connection.
Favorite Book: Go for No! Yes is the Destination, No is How You Get There
Just 75 pages long but packed with inspiration and paradigm-shifting lessons, this book chronicles four days in the life of a fictional copier salesperson who has a life-changing experience that reveals his self-limiting beliefs and fear of failure. I was so inspired by Go for No that I ordered extra copies this week for my sales managers—and I’m planning on launching a personal development series in our company based upon the book’s core message of constantly pushing the edges of your comfort zone.
Favorite Video: Baby Bottle Boomerang
Last week, Debbie and I attended the Pregnancy Care Center’s Light of Life Banquet at the Hagerty Center. Among the evening’s many highlights, this adorable video promoting the Center’s annual Baby Bottle Boomerang fundraiser was priceless. It’s sure to put a smile on your face—check it out!
Favorite Insight: Awakening from Alzheimer’s docuseries
Since my father died of this insidious disease in 2016, I have become a student of Alzheimer’s. Based on the highly rated book by Peggy Sarlin, this ground-breaking video series contains powerful interviews with leading researchers and physicians as they share amazing new research in the treatment of Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, and other auto-immune diseases. What’s truly amazing and extremely hopeful to me are the numerous examples of natural, non-pharmaceutical based treatments that not only reduce the incidence of Alzheimer’s, but in many cases, can reverse the effects of the disease. The interviews are extremely well produced and full of life-changing personal health strategies that will improve every aspect of your life. If you are interested in seeing a preview of this series, contact me and I will send you one of the interviews.
As you prepare to wrap up this week and head into the weekend, what were your favorite things about this week? I’d love to hear from you.

My favorite thing for this week was, sitting on the front porch and listening to the birds sings as the sun dances across the my face and grass. A slight warm breezing blowing through the trees and across my skin. The sights and sounds of summer coming alive.
Thanks Bill for sharing, great suggestions. Already ordered one book and other on library hold. Goodwill had a great strategic planning session today. As part of the process, we used Simon Sineks “Golden Circle” to really get at our WHY and to move beyond describing what and how we provide services to understand our core purpose and value. It is an older TED Talk (timely as we come off TC’s recent TED talks) but still relevant to our understanding of creating meaningful community impact.
